Justice Hill Status

rotoWire
Hill is re-signing with Baltimore on a two-year, $4.5 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

What it means:

The 2019 fourth-round pick has played nearly as many snaps on special teams (501) as offense (524) in the NFL, though he did have a career-high 262 rushing yards last season. Hill profiles as Baltimore's No. 3 back heading into offseason practices, or perhaps the No. 4 if they add a draft pick in the early or middle rounds. J.K. Dobbins is under contract through 2023, and Gus Edwards recently accepted a pay cut to stay with the team.
rotoWire
Hill had two receptions for 10 yards in the Ravens' playoff loss to the Bengals.

What it means:

The fourth-year back had his best professional season thus far by setting a new career-high in rushing yards (262) and yards per carry (5.3). It was his first year back from an Achilles injury that wiped out his 2021 campaign. Baltimore had to mix and match at running back for much of the season with J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards both battling different injuries and workload restrictions and Hill performed ably when called upon. Hill and fellow veteran Kenyan Drake will be unrestricted free agents this offseason but the club could entertain bringing one of them back to serve as the third running back. If Hill does not return to the Ravens, he could still draw some interest from teams on the open market after performing well this season.
rotoWire
Hill carried seven times for 34 yards in Sunday's 27-16 loss to the Bengals.

What it means:

The seven carries more than doubled Hill's output (three) from the Ravens' previous six games combined. Hill had moved almost exclusively into a full-time special-teams role after J.K. Dobbins returned from injured reserve Week 14, but Hill as well as Kenyan Drake were able to reclaim roles on offense in the regular-season finale while Dobbins was inactive for maintenance purposes. Hill and Drake then finished the afternoon as the Ravens' lone healthy backs, as fill-in starter Gus Edwards exited early with a concussion. Even if Edwards is unable to clear the concussion protocol prior to Sunday's rematch with the Bengals in the wild-card round, neither Hill nor Drake projects to retain the roles they enjoyed Week 18 with Dobbins set to return to the lineup while reclaiming duties as the Ravens' clear lead back. Hill finished the regular season with 49 carries for 262 yards to go with 12 catches for 58 yards over his 15 appearances.
rotoWire
Hill rushed once for three yards and caught his lone target for 15 yards in Sunday's 13-3 loss to the Browns.

What it means:

Hill, who received 24 offensive snaps this past weekend in Cleveland, saw the same amount of plays as fellow running back J.K. Dobbins (24) and also out-snapped Gus Edwards (11). The 25-year-old will likely continue splitting backfield reps when Baltimore hosts the Falcons on Saturday.
rotoWire
Justice Hill failed to record a single touch in Sunday's 16-14 win over the Steelers.

What it means:

Hill played just two of the Ravens' 61 offensive snaps as the No. 4 running back behind J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Kenyan Drake. The 25-year-old saw most of his playing time on special teams, returning two kickoffs for 39 total yards. With such limited opportunities out of the backfield, Hill should remain far off the fantasy radar when the Ravens visit the Browns in Week 15.
rotoWire
Hill had one carry for two yards and added two receptions for four yards Sunday against the Broncos.

What it means:

Hill and Gus Edwards played the same number of snaps (17) but Edwards was more involved with six carries. Meanwhile, Kenyan Drake played the most snaps among the Ravens running backs and led the backfield with seven rushes for 29 yards. The offense was facing a tough matchup, but the fact remains that the team mustered just 281 total yards with Tyler Huntley at quarterback. If Jackson is out Sunday against the Steelers, the offense could be hemmed in once again.
