Proche had eight catches on 17 targets for 62 yards and no touchdowns in 2022.
What it means:
It was a disappointing third season for Proche. The season began with Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay as the Ravens' top targets but there was still room for Proche to carve out a role, and yet he was unable to do that. Bateman and Duvernay each suffered season-ending injuries at different points of the season but it was Demarcus Robinson and Sammy Watkins who ultimately took on bigger roles. Proche remains under contract for one more season but his inability to be involved in the offense despite all the attrition in the receiving corps this season does not portend well for his role in 2023 when Bateman and Duvernay are healthy.
Proche played 32 of the Ravens' 75 snaps on offense and finished with zero catches on three targets in Sunday's 27-16 loss to the Bengals.
What it means:
With the Ravens waiving DeSean Jackson ahead of the Week 18 contest, Proche stepped into a top-three role at receiver for the regular-season finale alongside Demarcus Robinson and Sammy Watkins. Despite playing double-digit snaps for the first time since Week 13, Proche couldn't forge a connection with third-string quarterback Anthony Brown, who was making his first NFL start with Lamar Jackson (knee) and Tyler Huntley (shoulder) sidelined. Proche could continue to serve as the Ravens' No. 3 receiver ahead of Tylan Wallace in Sunday's rematch with the Bengals in the wild-card round of the playoffs, but none of the Baltimore pass catchers profile as especially strong fantasy options this weekend aside from standout tight end Mark Andrews. Proche finished the regular season with eight catches for 62 yards on 17 targets across 15 appearances.
Proche secured both of his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 10-9 win over the Broncos.
What it means:
On top of his uninspiring performance as a receiver, Proche was also given an opportunity in the game as a passer. Unfortunately, his only attempt on a gadget play in the fourth quarter was intercepted in the end zone on a throw to Kenyan Drake. The 26-year-old wideout played just 13 of the Ravens' 72 offensive snaps while operating as the team's No. 4 receiver. Proche can not be trusted for fantasy purposes with such limited usage. In addition, Baltimore's passing offense stands to take a hit with Lamar Jackson (knee) most likely sidelined for at least one game. The Ravens host the Steelers in Week 14.
Proche failed to secure both of his targets in Sunday's 13-3 win over the Panthers.
What it means:
Proche operated as the No. 3 wideout Sunday, playing just 25 percent of Baltimore's offensive snaps. Unfortunately, the 26-year-old could not make the most of his opportunities on a day when the offense struggled to put points on the board. Proche will be difficult to trust going forward and is likely best left out of fantasy lineups when the Ravens visit the Jaguars in Week 12.
Proche had two catches for 22 yards on two targets Monday against the Saints.
What it means:
Monday's box score was an anomaly for Baltimore. Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Lamar Jackson was the first quarterback in over 30 years to complete passes to 10 different players while having no more than 12 completions overall. In other words, Baltimore spread the ball around with Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman sidelined. With that wide distribution, Proche's two catches tied for the team lead. Bateman is done for the season, so Proche stands to continue to have a role in the offense going forward. It's worth noting, however, that Proche's snap count dipped from 46 in Week 8 to 17 in Week 9.
Proche caught three of four targets for 24 yards in Thursday's 27-22 win over Tampa Bay.
What it means:
Proche came in with only two targets all season but doubled that total in this game alone. His elevated usage can be chalked up to the Ravens losing both Mark Andrews (shoulder) and Rashod Bateman (foot) to injuries during the game. Even if Bateman remains sidelined in Week 9 against the Saints, Proche will be no higher than third in the wide receiver pecking order behind Devin Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson.
