Moore caught two of six targets for 22 yards in a 32-31 win over the Colts in Week 18.
What it means:
Moore, who received heavy usage late in the season due to Nico Collins' season-ending foot injury, caught 21 of 34 targets for 234 yards over the final five games. He totaled 48 catches for 548 yards and two touchdowns, his most output in seven NFL seasons. He becomes an unrestricted free agent in March and will turn 30 in the offseason. It's unknown what kind of market will develop for him or whether a new Texans coaching regime will want to bring him back, but Moore should find a home in 2023.
Moore caught three passes for 21 yards on five targets against Jacksonville on Sunday.
What it means:
Moore had some success in Weeks 13-through-16 when the Texans gave him more reps outside as opposed to the slot, but the inside/underneath game has never been a productive part of Moore's repertoire and in the past two weeks the Texans have reverted to lining up Moore in the slot and underneath rather than outside and downfield. If the Texans continue to misuse Moore then he might be hard-pressed to bounce back against Indianapolis in Week 18.
Moore caught two of four targets for 25 yards in Saturday's 19-14 win over the Titans in Week 16.
What it means:
Moore was a limited during practice due to a foot injury, but managed to lead the position group with 61 snaps. That included the return of Brandin Cooks, who hadn't played in three weeks due to a calf injury. Moore has averaged six targets, four catches and 47 yards per game over the last eight weeks, and the 29-year-old is enjoying his best NFL season with 43 catches, 505 yards and two touchdowns.
Moore (foot) is active for Saturday's game against the Titans.
What it means:
Moore was a limited practice participant all week due to the foot issue, but now that he's avoided the inactive list, he should be secure in a full-time starting role both Saturday and for the rest of the season, after Nico Collins (foot) was moved to injured reserve. While both Collins and Brandin Cooks (calf) were sidelined for the past two weeks, Moore served as Houston's top option in the passing game, garnering 19 targets between those contests. Cooks is back in action after a three-game absence and should step back in as Houston's No. 1 wideout, but there could still be enough target volume to go around for Moore to retain fantasy relevance.
Texans' Chris Moore (foot) active Saturday
What it means:
Houston Texans wide receiver Chris Moore (foot) is active for Week 16 versus the Tennessee Titans.
Moore and Brandin Cooks will be the Texans' starting receivers, and they should command most of the targets. Nico Collins (foot) is out again.
numberFire's models project Moore for 6.3 targets, 3.8 receptions, and 44.7 yards. Cooks is projected to lead the Texans with 6.6 targets. The Titans have the No. 23 adjusted pass defense in our season-long team rankings and they are allowing the most FanDuel points per game to wide receivers.
Texans' Chris Moore (foot) questionable for Saturday
What it means:
Houston Texans wide receiver Chris Moore (foot) is questionable for Week 16 against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday.
Moore was limited in all three practices this week, so he should be able to play on Saturday. Nico Collins (foot) has been ruled out again, but Brandin Cooks (calf) is expected to return from a three-game absence. Moore should play starter snaps opposite Cooks.
numberFire's models project Moore for 6.3 targets, 3.8 receptions, and 44.9 yards. The Titans have the No. 23 adjusted pass defense in our season-long team rankings and they are allowing the most FanDuel points per game to wide receivers.
