Boston Scott Status

rotoWire
The Eagles re-signed Scott a one-year contract Tuesday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.

What it means:

Scott turns 28 in April and has spent his entire five-year career with the Eagles as a backup running back. The Eagles reportedly added Rashaad Penny to their backfield Tuesday, and it wouldn't be surprising if Philadelphia isn't done at the position. Scott would likely need one or two injuries ahead of him in order to come onto the fantasy radar. He handled just 54 carries for 217 yards and three touchdowns in 2022.
rotoWire
Scott logged 54 carries for 217 yards and three touchdowns across 15 regular-season games with the Eagles in 2022. He also secured five of six targets for 15 yards.

What it means:

Scott was additionally an important contributor on special teams for Philadelphia, as he amassed 406 yards as a kick returner. The soon-to-be 28-year-old is scheduled to become a free agent when the new league year begins, but he could realistically re-sign with the Eagles on another one-year deal, as he did in both 2021 and 2022. Scott has been consistently reliable across his five years with Philadelphia, never once dipping below 4.0 YPC.
rotoWire
Scott carried the ball nine times for a season-high 54 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Giants.

What it means:

The running back scored Philadelphia's only TD of the game on an eight-yard run in the first quarter and wound up leading the team in rushing yards, as with the Eagles ahead 16-0 at the half, they had little incentive to give Miles Sanders a heavy workload. Scott wraps up the regular season with 217 rushing yards and three touchdowns over 15 games in a depth role, and his usage isn't likely to change in the playoffs.
rotoWire
Scott rushed twice for six yards in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Saints.

What it means:

Scott made a minimal impact in a game in which the Eagles' offense fell flat as a unit, though his two carries were two more than he'd managed in either of the previous two weeks. He also out-snapped fellow depth running back Kenneth Gainwell by a 18-15 margin and tied him in touches. That could have made Scott an interesting Week 18 play had the Eagles manage to secure a first-round bye this week, allowing them to rest their starters for the regular-season finale, but the loss means that Miles Sanders will remain the only Philadelphia running back worth considering.
rotoWire
Scott did not receive a touch in Sunday's win over the Bears.

What it means:

Scott recorded a season-high seven touches in each of the previous two weeks, but he saw the field for just four offensive snaps this time around. He did at least make some impact on the game, as his 58-yard kickoff return to open the second half led to a quick touchdown. Fellow depth running back Kenneth Gainwell was on the field for 29 offensive snaps, which means he's probably the guy to get for those speculating that Miles Sanders could be rested in Week 18.
rotoWire
Scott rushed six times for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 48-22 win over the Giants. He also caught one pass for four yards.

What it means:

Scott found the end zone for the second time this season. His three-yard rush late in the fourth quarter stretched the Eagles' lead to 34 points. While he did wind up with a season-high seven touches for the second consecutive week, five of those came with the game well out of reach in the fourth quarter.
