Rogers was a dual-threat QB at UNLV and Ohio before catching on with the Commanders as an undrafted free agent and converting to tight end. He's listed at only 225 pounds, but the team nonetheless trusted him to play at least 13 snaps in five straight games Weeks 6-10 while John Bates, Logan Thomas and Cole Turner alternately dealt with injuries. Rogers likely will be tasked with adding weight this offseason and could make a push up the depth chart with no mainstay ahead of him, though he's already 25 and faces an uphill battle to approximate Thomas' unusual career arc (also a college QB, and a late bloomer in the pros).

Rogers landed on IR with knee and ankle injuries following the Week 10 contest versus Philadelphia. the undrafted rookie was then designated to return to practice Dec. 28, and he'll now be available for Sunday's regular-season finale versus Dallas. Rogers has caught five of six targets for 64 yards across 10 games this season, and it's likely he'll continue to slot into a supplemental role alongside Cole Turner and John Bates while Logan Thomas serves as the team's primary receiving tight end.

Rogers has been out since late November while dealing with knee and ankle injuries, but he will now have a shot at being activated before the end of the regular season. The tight end has appeared in 10 games this year, reeling in five catches for 64 yards while also rushing for 24 yards on his only carry. Rogers has split time evenly between the offensive unit and special teams and he will likely return to a similar role if activated.

Rogers was already ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans due to knee and ankle injuries, but he'll now be forced to miss at least the next four contests. In his absence, John Bates and Cole Turner will operate as the primary backups to Logan Thomas.

The 24-year-old has played a complementary role on Washington's offense through the team's first 10 contests, but John Bates and Cole Turner are now slated for additional tight end snaps Sunday in Houston behind starter Logan Thomas.

Rogers finished third among Washington's tight ends with 13 snaps (20 percent) but arguably had the biggest contribution with his long gain on an end-around to convert a 3rd-and-short. While unlikely to make much of a dent as a pass catcher this season, the college QB could be part of trick plays on occasion and seems to be a better blocker than one might expect of an undersized, converted tight end. Next up for Rogers are road games against the Eagles (Week 10) and Texans (Week 11).
