Bitcoin Bowl Free Play Promotion

Welcome to the Bitcoin Bowl Free Play (“Free Play”) from FanDuel. The Free Play will be a fantasy football contest starting on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 4:35pm ET.

The Free Play is a single entry fantasy football contest and no entry fee is required to enter. Any instance of registering multiple accounts on FanDuel in order to gain more than one entry into the Free Play will result in automatic disqualification from the Free Play as well as potential suspension from FanDuel.

The Free Play will begin on Saturday, January 6, 2018. The top finisher in the Free Play will be awarded 1 Bitcoin (the “Prize”). The winner of the Prize will be contacted by FanDuel within 72 hours of winning the Prize with instructions on how to claim their Prize. The Prize is non-transferrable, is subject to availability, and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Winners of a Prize will be contacted by FanDuel within seventy-two (72) hours of contest settlement with instructions on how to claim their Prize. Users will receive their Prize within thirty (30) days after providing FanDuel with all requested information, including a valid Bitcoin (BTC) public wallet address (a “BTC Address”). All Prizes are non-transferrable, are subject to availability, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Prior to Delivery (as defined below), a winner has no right to sell the Prize or cause FanDuel to exchange the Prize for cash or any other property. FanDuel shall not be considered a fiduciary or custodian of the Prize, including, without limitation, for the period prior to Delivery.

The price of Bitcoin that appeared on Coinbase’s charts page (https://www.coinbase.com/charts) at 4 P.M. EST, on January 1, 2018 (the “Valuation Time”) was approximately $13,500, which for purposes of these terms and conditions is the approximate retail value (“ARV”). FanDuel is neither responsible for any fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin from the Valuation Time to the date and time the Prize is sent to the winner’s BTC Address (“Delivery”) nor any fluctuations thereafter.

Within seventy-two (72) hours after a winner is notified that he or she has won a Prize, the winner shall provide FanDuel with a BTC Address. For the avoidance of doubt, the BTC Address must be under the direct or indirect control of the winner and shall not be under the direct or indirect control of a third-party. All winners are advised that the loss or destruction of a private key required to access a blockchain asset, such as Bitcoin, may be irreversible. If you lose access to the private key associated with the BTC Address you provide us, your Prize will likely be irretrievable. You should not give access to your private key to any person you do not trust to handle the Prize. Any person knowing the private key can transfer the Prize, without your consent, to another address he or she controls. You are encouraged to (i) securely back-up your digital wallets and private keys, and (ii) securely store the twelve or twenty-four words generated by your digital wallet that make up your recovery phrase. Any person with this recovery phrase can access your Bitcoin without access to the hardware or software wallet that generated the recovery phrase. Users are responsible for acquiring their own BTC Address to be provided to FanDuel.

The winner of the Prize is responsible for the payment of all local, state and federal taxes on the Prize. The Internal Revenue Service has issued Notice 2014-21 (https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-14-21.pdf) setting forth certain guidance on the tax treatment of Bitcoin. Each winner should consult with and must rely upon the advice of his or her own professional tax advisors with respect to the United States and non-U.S. tax treatment of his or her receipt of the Prize.

Bitcoin Bowl Free Play Teams and Scoring

Standard FanDuel scoring rules for fantasy football contests apply to the Free Play. You can find all scoring rules at https://www.fanduel.com/rules.

In the event of any ties between two or more players for the Prize, then all players that are tied will play in a one-day fantasy football playoff contest to determine the winner.
