suggestion: lower the amount of money fanduel takes

  1 bigboyy7
taking 20% from every game is ridiculous, i suggest 10%, not only to save me money but i do believe they will get more business with lower rates

It is only 10%. Do the math: two players play a $5 game thats $10 bucks to win $9.

$4 isn't 20% of $5. It's 80%. I think what you're saying is that your maximum ROI in head to head contests is 80%, which is true but not especially bad for fantasy contests.

At some point we will be lowering what we take from the higher buy in contests. It's going to be at least a few weeks until the programmers get to work on that though.

I think a good way to do it is to model it after the buy-ins for online poker. A $5 tournament costs $5.00+.50, so essentially $5.50 and the profit for fanduel would be the same at $1.00.

I agree, the juice is too high here. I stumbled upon this site a few weeks back and I am addicted. Great concept. The one thing that may discourage me from continuing to play here is the juice. You really need to be well over .500 winning pct in order to actually make money. I understand that it is a business and Fanduels needs to pay th bills, but I do think that you would get more participants if you lowered the juice.

Mimicing what online poker sites do makes sense, or maybe have some sort of bonus program where you can earn some of that juice back.

Actually, it's pretty close to the poker sites' tournament fees already. But in any case, we're planning to lower the commission on the higher buy in contests very soon. We'll also be looking at various options for rewards/loyalty programs, although that will definitely take some time to put into place.
